Sarah Cartwright Walkerton, ON Obituary Death – devoted wife, loving mother has died

The Owen Sound community and beyond are mourning the loss of Sarah Jane Cartwright (née Anstee), who passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Chapman House in Owen Sound, surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends. Sarah was 45 years old, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, and a treasured friend to all who knew her. Her life was defined by generosity, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones.

Sarah was the loving wife of Darryl Cartwright and a proud and devoted mother to her three boys: Owen (Ashlyn), Dylan (Tori), and Keenan (Claudia), whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. Her family was the center of her world, and her love and care were evident in every decision she made and every moment she shared. Her beloved dog, Knox, was also a cherished companion, and she will be missed dearly by him.

She is survived by her father, Dan Anstee, her brother Brian (Brooke), and her extended family, including her nieces and nephews Sophie, Jake, Bella, Alex, Mia, Caleb, Tily, and Hadley. Sarah was also loved by her in-laws Bruce and Bonnie Cartwright, brothers-in-law Mark (Kate) and Ryan (Marsha), sister-in-law Laurie Auguste (Kerry), and her lifelong best friend Sarah Trelford, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Sarah was predeceased by her mother, Judi, and her grandparents Norm and Bernice Cummings and Albert and Viola Anstee.

Sarah was the heart of her family, a steady source of strength, love, and connection. She faced life with courage and grace, putting the needs of others before her own. A natural organizer and peacemaker, Sarah had the rare ability to bring people together, ensuring that no one was left out and that every shared moment was meaningful. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering compassion left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Beyond her family, Sarah built deep and meaningful connections in the communities of Ingersoll, Saugeen Shores, and Walkerton. She was passionate about health, well-being, and fostering community, touching countless lives through her care, generosity, and spirit. Those who knew her remember her as a radiant presence, like a magnificent comet—bright, vibrant, and unforgettable, even if her time with us felt too short.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sarah’s life on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Walkerton, with a time of remembrance at 3:30 p.m. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of CarePartners and Chapman House for their exceptional care and support.
